Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

The study program Electrical Engineering and Computing is a program of doctoral academic studies that lasts 3 years (6 semesters) and has a scope of studies of 180 ECTS. As a result, the learning process provides knowledge and ability for independent scientific research, use of domestic and foreign literature, solving professional engineering problems and creative thinking and action that exceeds the scope of current knowledge and existing engineering practice. study Doctor of Science - Electrical Engineering and Computing.

The conditions for enrollment in the study program are prescribed by the Statute and the Rulebook on doctoral academic studies and the Amendments to the rulebook on doctoral studies at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Kragujevac.

The study program contains elective courses, each of which carries 15 ECTS. Although the proposed study program as such is unique, ie for now it does not contain more related modules, students are offered a list of elective courses, some of which can be offered in other study programs of the Faculty. The subjects are divided into two elective groups: elective group A consists of subjects in the field of electrical engineering and computer science (14 subjects) and elective group B which consists of subjects from other related fields (7 subjects). Students choose a total of 6 courses in the first three semesters, provided that they must choose at least three courses from the first-mentioned elective group.

Depending on the number of registered students, classes are organized as individual (mentoring) or group. Group teaching is performed if there are five or more students in one subject, ie if this type of teaching is necessary to organize due to the nature (character) of the subject. Classes are held in the first two years of study. During the second two years, 3 study and research papers related to the doctoral dissertation are planned, of which one in the second year, and the other two in the third year of study, each with 20 ECTS credits. Also, in the second year, preparatory work is planned for the application of the topic of the doctoral thesis, which carries 10 ECTS points. The third year is planned exclusively for the preparation of a doctoral dissertation, with a total of 60 ECTS points allocated to the study and research work 2 x 20 ECTS, 10 ECTS credits for writing a doctoral dissertation and 10 ECTS credits for the preparation and defense of a doctoral dissertation. Classes are usually held in Serbian. The Faculty may organize and conduct doctoral studies, ie certain parts of those studies, as well as organize the preparation and defense of a doctoral dissertation in a foreign language. Literature for teaching and scientific research can be in one of the world's languages.

90 ECTS credits are earned through research work related to the doctoral dissertation and the preparation and defense of the dissertation. The procedure for submitting a thesis, appointing a commission and public oral defense is defined by the Rulebook on Doctoral Studies.

Prerequisites for enrollment of individual subjects are entered in the tables of subjects that are an integral part of the Book of subjects .

The purpose of the study program of doctoral studies in Electrical Engineering and Computing is to educate students capable of independent scientific research, use of domestic and foreign literature, solving complex engineering problems and creative thinking and action that exceeds the scope of current knowledge and existing engineering practices. Working in adequately equipped laboratories and computer classrooms enables successful scientific research work in this field. The program of these doctoral studies is designed to ensure the acquisition of socially justified and useful competencies. The purpose of this study program is in accordance with the basic tasks and goals of the Faculty of Engineering as an institution dedicated to achieving high standards of education of electrical engineers and doctors of science in the field of electrical engineering and computer science. So,

  • Design of intelligent control systems
  • Design and analysis of image processing systems
  • Dose calculation and optimization in diagnostic radiological procedures
  • Application of mathematical methods and machine learning in IoT and computer architecture
  • Development of sensor networks
  • Analysis of photovoltaic and solar systems
  • Application of machine learning methods in large amount data management
  • Industrial automation
  • Design and analysis of signal processing systems
  • Research in the field of electromagnetic radiation and electromagnetic compatibility
  • Design of integrated circuits and systems
  • Spectroscopic diagnostics of plasma sources and gas discharges
  • Design and analysis of algorithms and data structures
  • Artificial intelligence systems and machine and deep learning
  • Electronics.

The goal of introducing doctoral academic studies is to ensure the acquisition of the highest level of formal education in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering, necessary for participation in scientific research activities and fundamental / technical-technological projects. Initiation of doctoral programs in the field of electrical and computer engineering at the Faculty of Engineering in Kragujevac, strengthens research potential in this field in order to contribute to the development of science at the national level and application of scientific solutions in the field of electrical and computer engineering. work at the Faculty.

The main goal that this study program should achieve is a thorough knowledge and understanding of the disciplines of electrical engineering and computer science. At the same time, the goal of doctoral students is to develop the ability to solve problems with the use of scientific methods and procedures, as well as to connect basic knowledge from different fields and their application. The concept of the study program enables doctoral students to follow modern achievements in the profession, develop skills and abilities in the use of knowledge in the field of electrical and computer engineering, as well as the use of information and communication technologies at a high professional level.

The program of doctoral studies in Electrical Engineering and Computing is a continuation of the education of students who have completed the master's academic studies in Electrical Engineering and Computing. Upon completion of the doctoral study program, students will acquire additional narrowly professional knowledge and skills in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering, which they did not acquire during undergraduate and master's academic studies, and which will depend on the choice of subjects during doctoral studies. In addition to upgrading knowledge, graduate students will have the opportunity to apply the experience gained during their studies in various scientific, technical, technological and innovative projects. After completing this level of education, graduate students will be completely independent in research, both in industry or research and development centers, and in scientific research work in institutes or faculties. In addition to general skills that the student should master by the time of graduation (research skills, ability to work independently, ability to present and publish results, critical analysis and evaluation with professional and ethical responsibility, skills of collecting, processing and distributing information, linguistic, numerical and technical literacy, as well as knowledge of a foreign language) he also acquires skills that depend on the individual courses he attends and takes. Subject-specific competencies as outcomes of the completed learning process cover various areas: processing and distributing information, language, numerical and technical literacy, as well as knowledge of a foreign language) he also acquires skills that depend on the individual courses he attends and takes. Subject-specific competencies as outcomes of the completed learning process cover various areas: processing and distributing information, language, numerical and technical literacy, as well as knowledge of a foreign language) he also acquires skills that depend on the individual courses he attends and takes. Subject-specific competencies as outcomes of the completed learning process cover various areas:
