The Department of Electrical Engineering was founded on May 18, 2017. year and as such is the youngest department at the Faculty of Engineering. It consists of four members, two full professors and two assistant professors.
In terms of teaching activities, the Department of Electrical Engineering is in charge of teaching in the study program Computer Engineering and Software Engineering, in basic academic studies accredited for enrollment of 60 students per year, as well as in electrical engineering courses in undergraduate and graduate studies in other study programs.
Accreditation of masters is planned, as well as doctoral academic studies in the field of electrical engineering and computer science.
Teachers of the Department of Electrical Engineering have been educated or trained at many universities around the world: University of Maribor (Slovenia), University of Alabama, Huntsville and the University of California at Berkeley (USA), University of Applied Sciences, Augsburg and Ilmenau Technical University (Germany), Westminster University , London (UK), Technical University of Delft (Netherlands), Technical University of Vienna (Austria), National Technical University of Athens (Greece).
In the field of professional cooperation, the Department of Electrical Engineering is associated with companies from the environment with which it implements joint projects, while in scientific terms, members of the Department of Electrical Engineering contribute to general electrical engineering, electromagnetics, computer technology and informatics, automation, electronics, integrated circuit design and other narrow scientific fields for which the Department of Electrical Engineering is the main one.
Within the Department of Electrical Engineering, there is also the Laboratory of Electrical Engineering.
The laboratory is located and operates in two rooms and has two departments: the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering and the Department of Electronics, Microcontrollers and Signal Processing.
As Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world, its development should be stimulated and special attention should be paid to the development of the software and hardware industry, since it has a direct impact on economic development. In that sense, the Department of Electrical Engineering represents institutional support to young people, students and young researchers of the Faculty of Engineering, and establishes close ties between the University of Kragujevac and the economy. In the future, this will result in an increasing influence of the field of Electrical Engineering and Computing on economic flows and activities in society, as well as a reduction in the departure of young staff from the country due to underdeveloped economic environment.
