Regional Euro Center for Energy Efficiency (Website) was established in 2003 as a unit of the Faculty responsible for education, consulting and promotion of rational energy management and use of renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of scientific and professional projects to increase energy efficiency in the region. municipalities of central and southwestern Serbia. The founders of the Center are the Energy Efficiency Agency (SEEA) - as a representative of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia and the European Agency for Reconstruction, the Norwegian Energy Efficiency Group (NEEG), as a representative of the Government of the Kingdom of Norway; Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kragujevac (MFKg) - Department of Energy and Process Engineering (KEPT); Kragujevac City Assembly; "Zastava vozila" group and municipalities from the area that gravitates to the University. The first head of the center was prof. Dr. Milun Babic.
The activities of the center are:
- scientific-research and professional work in the fields of energy, energy management, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources,
- expertise, technical calculations and financial analysis, preparation of feasibility and pre-feasibility studies in the fields of energy, energy management, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources
- education and creation of training programs in the fields of energy, energy management, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
- promotional activities and activities related to raising awareness on energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources and environmental protection
- preparation of energy balances, energy plans and programs of local self-governments,
- preparation of energy audits of industrial plants and utility systems,
- preparation of energy audits of public and residential buildings and issuance of certificates on energy performance of buildings
- measurement of energy quantities and assessment of the state of energy systems and subsystems
- development of software solutions in the fields of energy, energy management, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources
The center has the following modern measuring equipment for energy balancing in industry, buildings, public and utility companies:
